Duluth Days Festival

Had a great time last weekend. The craft show was so much fun and boy am I glad I got a square! I sold some thing I know I wouldn't have without it and so did my Mom.
Well, now that things are getting back to normal I will be adding some new jewelry to my shops. I made a lot more earrings than I thought. But first I have to take pictures, not my favorite part. So be on the lookout for some new stuff from me, etsy site will be full of new earrings!
On another note I finished by reading challenge for the year. Feels great and next year I will have to increase the number of books I read. With the help of my kindle to have found some really great authors and some excellent books.
That's all for now. Check back for new stuff. I will try to post here as I add.

New display

Funny what a little left over molding and some extra hardware can make. Some picture hangers, screws, and molding! That's it, this being my first blog post via phone I hope the picture turns out! Thanks

Pizza Rolls

Another Pintrest idea done!  Well, this one was a recipe and the boys loved them.  My hubby spent the evening thinking of ways to tweak, but I loved the pizza rolls just the way they were.  What took the longest?  Heating the oven, lol.
The link to the recipe is the Tidy mom blog.  Here are my preoven and ready to eat pictures!

Yummy Yum Yummy ( as my 6 yr old said)

Little Apple pie bites

In my quest to do more of the many pins on Pintrest, well at least the ones that I am repining.  I have made a huge dent, I think anyway, in repining many recipes.  I have also noticed that many are sweet tooth coming out.  This is my first attempt to follow one of the recipes I found and was so easy it will not be my last.  In fact I made some pizza roles and a couple of nights ago made Chicken Parmesan (in the crock pot)....didn't take pictures.  But the family loved it.
This try at a pintrest recipe was a winner.  The boys weren't to crazy about them, I think the boys are nuts, but hubby loved them.  I LOVE apple pie so I couldn't pass this by and had to try!  Here is the blog that I found thru a picture on Pintrest.  Thank you Just get off your butt and bake, love that blog :)

Pintrest and Time

Well Hello All!  I can't believe it has been so long since my last post.  Life and...well Pintrest have gotten in the way.  LOL I know that I am not the only one that has been sucked into the wonderful world of Pintrest.  I have spent hours pinning all kind of ideas for house, garden, crafts...endless possibilities.  It is so addictive and fun I can't help myself.
I have decided this week, as I look back and realize that I could have gotten so much more done.  Maybe I should start to create the things I have been pinning.  So this is the first post in my campaign to do the thing I see on Pintrest.
I saw this super cute wreath and knew that I could make it.  After scouring the Internet I found the umbrellas.  OK here it is, Enjoy!

Z Box

What is Z Box?  Well it is an ingenuous idea over on Zibbet.  Ok so that didn't tell you much, but just wait I have more.  A group of talented artist and crafters have gotten together to make a box of goodies.  What's in the box?  Well samples, products that you can find in their shops, real handmade beauties.  Imagine the surprise and delight when you open one or send it as a gift.
This year I decided to do some different things to promote my shop, Lucy's Bead Studio, so besides joining Pintrest I joined the Z Box.  To get my jewelry into the hands of new people was a very exciting idea.  I wondered why I hadn't done it sooner!  I sent in a new line of button earrings, so fun to make and cute wear.  Hope to have some up in my shop soon.
Soon head on over and check out the Z Box on Zibbet.  A great way to dive into awesome handmade!
Thank You

Lucy's Bead Studio has a coupon

It is already half way through the New Year and beside the weird weather nothing much else is happening.  I thought that maybe to get alittle more activity in my shop I would offer a coupon.  So how does 15% off any purchase over $5.00 sound?  Hopefully it sounds great!  A awesome time to get a special gift for Valentine's Day.

I have been adding new thing to the shop this month and all new items are included.  I have added a few pictures of some of the new items but feel free to shop around ;)  Thanks for visiting.

This is a new T-Shirt scarf that I added today.  Great color, vibrant orange.  A statement with any outfit.  Great with all the winter layers we are all wearing now or a stunner with a t shirt and jeans.  Even dress up a tank top.
These are large white glass beads with silver accents.  Haven't been added to my shop yet....but will be this week.  Maybe tonight.  Somehow I have been roped into making a monster stuffed animal for my youngest son and he wants to sleep with it tonight so I guess I am sewing.   Hope you enjoy what's in the shop and stop by often.  Coupon is NEWYEARS2012

The Chalk Board

So recently I thought I had a great idea...a chalk board in the boys room.  How fun right?!  Well, yes the boys love it.  The chalk dust I could live without, but my youngest will draw until there is no chalk left.  So a good idea with a little extra clean up for me, but overall fun.  We use it for our spelling and work wall words also.

Well the indoor chalk board was such a hit and the paint was alittle on the pricey side.  I decided that there needed to be something else to do with the paint, hummm?  I did think about little chalk boards as gifts, but then I had a light bulb moment!  Don't you just love those?

Here is what I can up with, and you know how popular the indoor room version was....well this was/is even more so!  So go out today get some chalk board paint, paint a section of the wall in your child's room or paint a board and put it outside!

Here is what you need, for the outside version.
Yes, you can read that and don't worry his brother got him back. :)
The boys spend alot of time out there, but the flower is all me.

Z Box

For a new adventure this year I decided to join the Z Box on Zibbet.  A great idea that a few creative ladies on Zibbet came up with.  Shop ask to join the group and then are able to send in samples of their work.  These samples are then added to a box with samples from other shop.  Customers can buy the boxes and will get a great selection of what if offered on Zibbet, and the great work we all  do!

Not sure why I didn't do this sooner, but I am ready.  In fact I spent most of my Saturday evening making some earrings and book thongs for the boxes.  Hope to have everything done this week so I can get it out by early next week.  At least that's my plan and we all know how that works out sometimes. :)

Z Box check it out!

Something New

Added something new new to my Zibbet shop this afternoon.  Usually I stick to jewelry, but I saw something on Pintrest the other day and just had to make it.  A scarf made from t-shirts!  What a brilliant idea, why didn't I think of this?  I made 1 for myself and 1 for the shop.  I have two more to make, hopefully they will get done Friday.  So, here are some pictures of my new scarf.  Enjoy :)

beautiful blue color!

looped twice, cute little bow there
looped three times, this one is extra long

This scarf is a little longer that the last one that I made, but it looks great.  You can also just wear it without looping.  A great look with all your winter layers or light enough for the spring.  Beautiful scarf!

New Year

So its the begining of a new year and that can mean, at least for me, only one thing!  A new reading challenge.  This year I have decided to really challenge myself and take on 60 book.  That is quite a few books.  Now paranormal romance are my currect favorite but I have decided to branch out alittle this year.  I have already started The Gaurdian by Sherrilyn Kenyon, one of my all time favorite authors!  Next up is The Help, Mom said it was great, and then Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.  I would love input from you all...favorite books of yours?  Feel free to leave me a note, I would love to hear from you.
