Hello to all!  Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and are ready for the new year.  We had a great Christmas, Mom and Bob came to visit, very nice.  The boys really loved their visit.  Now we are all trying to detox from all the food eaten, yum!!

Now maybe some plans for the boys during their break, what to do what to do?  Of course some crafts, maybe a movie.  Then before I know it their break will be over and back to school they will go.  What about you all, what do you do with your children during their school break?

I guess this new year will also bring some changes to my shops.  Not sure yet, but I guess I will have to make some changes.  Have to think about it.  What about you...anyone else thinking of making changes?  I also have to start to get ready for the Duluth Days, in Duluth GA, but that's not until September.  But from what I learned this year, it goes by so fast that I need to start getting ready now! :)  Should be a great time.

The boy that made a wooden pig

It all started with a note brought home in a backpack.  All students have been invited to make an ornament for the First Tree in Nashville.  Both boys, my youngest more so, were excited about making an ornamnet.  The ornament had to be based on a favorite character from a book that they have read.  Very easy for my eldest, no question it was Greg Heffley, from Diary of a Wimpy.  He is quickly making his way throught the books and hopes that Santa will get him the lastest addition to the series.  (I know for a fact that Santa is getting it for him!)
Now, my youngest had a little harder time, not quite the reader that his brother is, but he is only 6.  At first it was a Thomas the Tank ornament...as I tried to think of how he (we) could make a train; he changed his mind.  He wanted to make Olivia the Pig.  And so we did, hope you enjoy his ornament.

the Diary of a Wimpy Kid Ornament
Finished Olivia Ornament
She is made out of a 6in table leg, bought at Home Depot.  O painted her and drew her face.  I glued a Coke bottle cap to make her snout.  He wanted her to have a bow and a tail, made out of pipe cleaner and hot glued it on.  Ears are painted felt.  She came out sooo cute !  O wants to make one for our tree!  So I'm off to Home Depot to get another table leg. :)

Washer Collection

Well I have decided to add a new collection to my shopI am adding a Washer collection.  Yes you read it right.  A collection I am making using washers from the hardware store.  I listed my first pair back in July and sold them.

This is a very simple yet lovely example of how you can use a washer.
I added this pair today. Love the copper wound around the bottom of the washer.
Has yet to be added to shop, but will soon.  Love the little 'charm' accents.

So these are some examples of what is already in the shop and what is coming.  I have ideas for some bracelets and maybe a necklace or two.  Hope you like them and come by to see more of what it coming!  Thank you

Finished and a Sale

As you can see I have completed my book challenge!  Yeah!  What a fun ride it was; the challenge to myself to make the time to read.  OK so that wasn't all that hard, love to read...would rather read than anything else.  Don't get me started on what happens around here when I am reading a good book. (Nothing gets done and hubby thinks that is a problem, lol)  I know I will be doing in again in January and might even up the number of books.  Ahh wonder if I can count the one I am reading now?

Other news...I am having a sale in my Zibbet shop.  I have decided to have a new sale of some kind each week until Christmas.  This week I have all my bracelets at 40% off until November 19th.  Then I will put something else on sale on the 20th.  Not sure what yet. (Will not be earrings because of the great price they are already at.)  No coupon is needed just start shopping...percent off is already taken care of.

Thanks....and remember I have been and will continue to add new stuff.

coming soon

Soccer and book challenge

OK, yes that title does tell all!  I spent the day today with my oldest at the soccer park, about an hour from home.  The boys played two games, and even though they didn't win, I think they had a great experience!  Connor had so much fun and that is really all that matters.  We have one more game in the tournament, sometime Sunday.  I am looking forward to seeing them play one more time before we all start hiding in the house. :)

As far as my book challenge....well I only have 2 books to go!  I am currently reading a great author, Terri Reid.  I am reading the 5th book in her Mary O'Reilly series, all have been great books.  Like biting my teeth waiting for the next book to come out!!  And then when it does I am reading a book I have to make myself finish it as I look longingly at the O'Reilly book on the shelf.  Just saying hop on over to Amazon and check out her books!  Money well spent for a great paranormal mystery with alittle romance thrown in!

I am not the only one with a reading challenge this year.  Both my boys have been doing an awesome job with their 20min a day challenge at school.  We are all doing a great job reading this year!

Hey all you bloggers out there!  Sorry I have not been around in awhile, but as we all know life sometimes gets away from us.  :)  So to celebrate my back to blogging I decided to update my page alittle.  Hope you all like it, too.
I am happy to say that I will be selling my windsocks in a local store, very excited about that!!  I will pass on more info once they are in the store.  I am also going to be adding to my Zibbet shop.
I have been thinking about reopening my Etsy shop, but am not sure about that one yet.  Thought maybe in the Etsy shop I might just do leather cuffs and some other bracelets.  Not sure what I want yet....just have to wait and see.
If you have any ideas or thoughts please leave a comment.

I'm sure many of you have noticed that my goal this summer has been to complete my reading challenge.  Well, I an a mere 10 books away from my goal and its only September!  I am so excited to have challenged myself and completed that challenge.  Not that reading is so much a challenge for me! :)
I started not only for myself, but as a way to show my boys what fun reading really is!  Now they have a reading challenge at school and I am going to help them jump right in.  It is not so much about how may books they read, but more about the time they spend reading.  Now 20 minutes a day does not seem that much, but I am finding it to be a bit of a challenge to get them to read.  So wish me luck with my challenge, 10 books left, and wish me luck in getting the boys to read!

Edisto Beach

Well we are home from a great vacation in Edisto Beach, South Carolina.  We have been going every year since I was pregnant with O, 7 years now.  This vacation has morphed into a extended family vacation and that makes it so much more fun!  My boys get a solid week to play with they cousins, who they don't get to see very often.  You would think that they had seen each other just yesterday.
Anyone looking for a relaxing and quite vacation, go to Edisto.  This is not a beach that is filled with restaurants and go-carts.  It is all about you and the beach.  There are a few activities to do, but the beach is the main attraction!  My boys spend the day playing in the surf and the sand.
I am already looking forward to next year.
So if you are looking for a quite vacation spot for you and your family check out Edisto Beach in South Carolina.  We will be back next year.  Renting the same run down house, but so much fun!
Hope to have some pictures for you later....I had so much fun in the surf with the boys that I forgot all about taking pictures, lol.
Have fun and enjoy your vacation.

Just needed 2 say

OK here goes!  After several years of working at Walmart and now Home Depot I just have to say "Please, people look in a mirror before u leave the house!"  I will say that Home Depot is not nearly as bad as Walmart was, and after dark OMG!  LOL

Ladies for some reason are by far the worst.  Pajamas are for home not shopping, and yes everyone can tell they are pajama bottoms.  Same goes for slippers, home not shopping or driving in.  But what really brought on this rant was the lady I saw on Saturday.

White tie strap tank, almost see thru, accented by hot pink leggings.  Not really that bad except for the fact she had on NO underwear or bra.  If she had leaned over everyone would have seen her 'girls.'  As far as the no underwear, how did I know?  Well the leggings were so tight there was no room for underwear.

Thank you all for listening, lol.  Just needed to get that out of my system....maybe now I will be able to forget the lady in the pink leggings!

Or not??????

Hey I'm still here!

All though I do feel that I am talking to myself most of the time I do feel a need to sit down and blog a little something every now and again.  Well, this summer has been kicking my butt!  I forgot how busy I really am during the summer and now that I am working, even just part time, it sure takes alot of my time.  Not to mention how tired I am ;)
So this summer has consists so far of:  reading,  working, scouts, and all the boys many other activities.  Mostly, that has been going to the pool and a movie.  We also went to Atlanta for a week, boy's Grandma lives there.  Fun trip, but I was glad to get home.
Our next big trip is to the beach sometime this month and we are all excited about that trip.  Then before I know it the boys will be back in school, mid August here in the South.
I have made some time for myself to make and add a few new items to my Zibbet shop.  Please stop on by and check out what I have.  Great Sale section with 60% off!!!  Many shops at Zibbet are having a Christmas in July offering.  So stock up early and get ahead of everyone else!  And Have Fun!!!!
New pair of earrings just added!!

End of School

Well the end of the school year is here and it has been a busy May for me.  I'm sure the rest of you are feeling the same way.  Happy the kiddies will be out for the Summer but know that come August I will be ready for them to go back! :)
I have had a hard time coming up with something to give the teacher for the end of the year and then last night I had a brilliant idea!  If I do say so myself, lol.  I am making windsocks for them,  I have done the outer fabric in a muslin so all the kids can sign their names.  They were all excited but couldn't quite see the end product yet.  Lucky for me, they had their Fun Day at school today and all the kids were there...means only one trip to have the windsocks signed and I can have both made tonight.
Hope the teacher like the windsocks, if so they might become my standard teacher gift! :)

This year I have added to an ongoing adventure, when Connor (my oldest) started the 1st grade he wanted to join Cub Scouts.  We had so much fun!  Now in the 2nd grade, he is a Wolf Cub, and I am the den leader.  I have enjoyed my time working with all these boys, all of whom go to school with my son...many in his class.  I never thought 10 to 8 eight year old boys would be such a handfull, but WOW!
Now as the school year comes to an end I have found myself as the whole Pack leader, or Pack Master.  What an adventure I am setting up for!  I can't wait.
I am ready for the summer and to see what this new Scout year has instore for us.  Of course my youngest will be joining this Fall and that is just another layer of fun.

Spring flowers

Something that I just love this time of year is watching the flowers arrive.  They always surprise me with their beauty.  What my husband finds to funny is that sometimes I am so surprised because I forget what I planted! ;)  So I thought I might share with everyone some of the flowers so far.....

I really love this Bleeding Heart, if you look close you can see the pansies I planted in the fall, it never looked this good!  I also have some beautiful looking roses and day lilies!  As soon as the blooms start I will share!

A New Piece

I try not to toot my own horn to often, but I needed to share this new necklace with you.  I was told this morning not to come into work, due to cutting hours...rain sucks!  So I decided to clean/straighten up my beading table.  It needed it badly!  As I was cleaning, putting away magazines and beads, I happened apon a picture that inspired me.  So inspired was I that not only did I clean up quikly, but made sure I would have time to create before everyone came home.  Namely 2 little boys who are very distracting! ;)
I got down to business and created a pendant that I just love.  The frog represents spring and the colors are just fun.
Hope you all enjoy my new addition to my shop as much as I do.
Silver plated chain comes with the pendant.  I will happily make a pair of earrings using the yellow shell beads to go with your new necklace!  Just send me a note when you purchase the necklace.
Thank You

A Block :(

I have come to an unfortunate head wall as far a my book challenge goes.  I am in the middle of a book and can't seem to get any further, even though it is a good book.  I downloaded 2 books to my kindle hoping to give myself a kick in the butt.  So far not working, I do want to read them but won't let myself until I finish the one I am currently reading.
I am beginning to think that the block I have found myself at also has something to do with my creative block.  I went to the bead store today in the hopes that it would inspire me.  I also got a custom order the other day and I know that will help, it requires that I learn a new knot for hemp jewelry.  That will be fun! I will try to take pictures as I go, but sometimes I get so involved that I forget. :)

Knoxville Library

I have always enjoyed a trip to the library and have tried to instill that same love in my boys.  I think it has something to do with the smell and feel of the books, or maybe just my pure love of reading!  Well I thought I would pass on to all of you that are from the Knoxville, TN area a little tidbit that I saw on the library's web site.  Their annual book sale is this weekend, Knoxville Library, check out the site for hours.  It will be downtown at the Expo Center and is open to the public.  So come on by and and get some great books and help out a library get some more awesome books.

New Adventure

In my never ending quest to stay a stay-at-home mom I have stumbled upon a great thing.  Well it was really my hubby who saw it first, but he really would like me to be at home for the boys and at the same time we need to pay the bills.  Don't we all.
I have jumped with both feet on the Herbalife wagon.  I have so far loved all the products that I have tried and am now selling!  I have more energy and get up n go than I have had in quite some time.
I didn't feel a need to lose weight, but wanted to maintain were I am at.  I feel great!  All natural, low dose vitamins and a great shake in the morning!  I am ready for the day.  Please check out my site Herbalife and join me feeling good this year!

OK, as many of you have noticed I am 40% done with my goal of 25 books to read this year.  I know that when summer gets here I will slow down, but with the progress so far I will pass my goal before then.  Hubby is saying "told you so!"  I guess to give myself a little more of a challenge I will have to up my books to read.  Not really a hardship for me (smile with gleam in my eye).  I can and sometimes do get really lost in the books I am reading, so much better than anything on TV.  Just last night I downloaded a few new books to my kindle, so I should have a good month of reading....them I will update you all again!

Great Reads

Well as many of you know I have joined a reading site...check widget!  I have decided that 25 books is a good number for me, hubby thinks this is to low!  Well we well see.  I have already ready 8 of the 25 to read and wanted to spread some of my joy.
I got my Kindle for Christmas from my Mom and have so far love every minute that I have spent reading on it!   I have been looking on the free and 'low' priced books, wanted to get every bang for my buck...or as it was Mom's buck!
I downloaded 2 books by Terri Reid, Loose Ends and Good Tidings, both were awesome!!!  I read both, each  in a day and a half.  The story moved along so smoothly and the chemistry between the characters is great.  I had to look online to see when the next book came out, that's how invested in the characters I became.
If you are looking for a great read you need to check out these books!  Amazon..Terri Reid  there are great and HIGHLY recommended.

Well instead of going anywhere today, we stayed nice and warm in the house.  Sometimes that is just what you need to recoup for the week.  I also had one sick little boy, have my fingers crossed that his brother doesn't get it also.  Temperature and cough all day really make for one tired young man.  Hope he is feeling better in the morning, but not getting my hopes up to high, already made arrangements for O to get to school in the morning.  Just keep your fingers crossed for me that he is better, hate it when my boys are sick.

Since I have been at home all day I have gotten some cleaning done and caught up on the laundry! :)  I also joined a reading website and have challenged myself to read 25 books this year.  I added a widget to motivate myself, but really I love to read and it shouldn't be to much of a challenge for me.  Maybe I will get passed the 25!  That would be awesome.  I got a Kindle for Christmas and so far have really been enjoying reading on it.  Much easier that I thought!  Well wish me luck with my challenge and I will try to keep you all up to date.  Off to READ!

Went and saw Tot yesterday!  She looked great, didn't get to take a picture, but all I could say is WOW!  She still has some serious wounds and has a lot of recovery yet to do, but she was happy to see me and the boys.  The vet said it would still be another couple of months before the wounds are finally healed.  She was so sweet and never uttered a sound while the boys petted her, you would not even know that she had been attacked by another dog she was so gentle.  I will try to see her again this weekend and will remember my camera.  I just wanted everyone to know how she was doing.  If you are interested in helping out her owners with the huge medical bills, feel free to drop me a note and I will be happy to get you all the info you need.  Thanks
Don't forget that I am donating 50% of my sales from my shops, so feel free to drop in and check out what I have on sale.

New design

Thought I might change it up a little and whala a new blog look!  Hope you all like.  Had to keep my earthtones, love green, and I think it is easy to look at.  Will be going by today sometime to see Tot and hope to get a picture, so you all can see what a great dog she is. :)
Comments about new look are always welcome, thanks.

Tot's Story

As many of you have seen I love my dog.  On Friday of this past week there was a terrible dog fight in our neighborhood, involving 3 dogs...2 aggressers and the 1 they were killing.  Now I have 2 young boys and as you can imagine this was not something that was going to be tolerated by my husband and me.  I was at work when all this happened but my husband was on his way to get our youngest son.  He tried everything he could to break up the fight.  On his way to pickup our son he saw a officer and told him what was happening, 20 min and animal control was here.  Took them quite a while to pick up the 2 dogs but thankfully they were picked up.
I went over the other day to see the dog that had been attached.  Her owner took her to the vet and 700$ later brought her home.  Poor dog had to get 15 stitches and 3 tubes. :(
I have decided to donate 50% of all my sales in my shops, Lucy's etsy shop and Lucy's Zibbt shop,  to help them with the medical bills, until further notice.  I will try to keep you all up to date with how she is doing.  If you want to do something special for, Tot ( the injured Husky), please feel free to contact me through facebook or this post.  I will be happy to give you their address. :)
Thank you for all the prayers and if she is looking better on Wednesday I will try to get a picture!

A Dog and the snow

Just thought with all the snow and wintry weather that we experiencing across the country; I would add a little light to the dreary.  Normally I would get all mushy and post some pictures of my boys, but I thought it would be fun to post something different.  So here are some pictures of our silly husky, named Rex, enjoying his favorite time of the year....winter and a snow 'storm'.

Not all of these pictures are from the snow we have today, but you can be sure I will take some more.  Today it was 25 and all he wanted to do was stay outside and sit in his chair.  That picture to come.  :)
